The last days of 2013 I watched Stephen Hawking’s “Grand Design” series. I’ve been having a weird feeling lately, and although I can’t pinpoint it exactly I know it has to do with my own humanity, no matter how I frame it.

In the series, Hawking attempts to explain the meaning of life and the origin of our universe. The quote “We are the universe contemplating itself” really stuck with me. He says, we are aware of our surroundings and of our insides, and we’ve evolved conscience unlike any other species, in a way that we truly are the universe, contemplating itself.

I honestly recommend you watch it. It helped me close the “where do we come from” book for a while so I could return to real life/jobs/money and other wonderful inventions of humankind.
